However, a large proportion of these enterprises operate in the informal economy, facing numerous challenges that hinder their growth and development.This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and opportunities associated with SME formalization in Pakistan, offering practical strategies to promote the transition of SMEs into the formal economy. It emphasizes the importance of promoting inclusive and equitable practices throughout the formalization process. This means ensuring that vulnerable groups, including women and marginalized communities, are not left behind. By creating a supportive environment for SMEs to formalize, we can enhance their productivity, promote social justice, and contribute to a more prosperous and just society.
