The ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy is part of the Sustainable Transformation Diploma
Training action held within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed between the International Labour Organization (ILO) office for Spain and CEOE Campus.

MADRID (ILO News) The office has participated in the new edition of the Sustainable Transformation Diploma organised by CEOE campus, to address the principles of good practice for multinational enterprises contained in the ILO's Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration).
Companies that want to adopt a socially responsible approach can be guided by the direct guidance provided by the MNE Declaration, and sign Global Agreements between the multinational company and trade union centres to protect the fundamental rights of workers in the areas of employment, training, labour relations, working and living conditions and general policies.
For this reason, the conference focused on the importance of the ILO in helping companies in the field of social responsibility. The director of the ILO office for Spain, Félix Peinado, stressed the need to respect human rights in supply chains, being essential the promotion of the social dimension in ESG by companies.
It was also highlighted how the MNE Declaration aims to promote the positive contribution of multinational and national companies, as far as it applies to them, to economic and social growth and decent work, and to minimise or resolve the difficulties that their operations present, as indicated by the technical advisor, Sara López.
Furthermore, Bernardo Cruza, sustainability director of the Spanish company El Corte Inglés, a company that has signed a global agreement within the framework of the ILO tripartite MNE declaration, gave an account of his experience in practice.
Finally, the companies present at the diploma were reminded of the tools approved by the ILO to compare their policies with the MNE Declaration, such as the self-assessment tool or the Helpdesk service for free and confidential technical advice to resolve any difficulties of interpretation that may arise in the context of the declaration.
