Montserrat
Montserrat is a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean Sea. It became a member of the ILO on 28 June 28 1919 through its territorial ties to the United Kingdom. As a non-metropolitan territory, Montserrat has been subject to the United Kingdom's ratification and application of ILO Conventions. The UK has extended a number of Conventions to cover Montserrat over the decades, particularly those dealing with core labour standards.
The ILO has provided technical assistance to Montserrat to strengthen labour administration and compliance with ratified Conventions throughout its recovery from volcanic crisis.
