Türkiye
Türkiye became a member state of the ILO in 1932. The first ILO Office in Türkiye was opened in İstanbul in 1952 under the name “Manpower Field Office for the Near and Middle East”. Subsequently, in 1976, the "ILO Ankara Office" was inaugurated, which now operates as the "ILO Office for Türkiye", based in Ankara.
The mission of the ILO Office for Türkiye is to have a strong, visible, and proactive presence and partnerships in Türkiye by effectively engaging with the government, employers’ and workers’ organizations, as well as with other national and international partners. The objective is to advance social justice and promote decent work agenda for all, ensuring that ILO principles are realized and that its values and standards are promoted.
